COACHING STAFF
Matt Seymour is a graduate of Baker High School in Mobile, Alabama, where he played baseball under ABCA Hall of Fame Coach Larry Andrews. While at Baker High School, the team won the 6A State Championship in 1990. Coach Seymour went on to Chattahoochee Valley Community College and played baseball under ABCA Hall of Fame Coach BR Johnson. While at CVCC, Seymour was named All Conference as a pitcher for the Pirates in 1991 and 1992. He then furthered his college playing career at Valdosta State University, under National Hall of Fame Coach Tommy Thomas.
After college, Coach Seymour signed as a free agent with the Zanesville Greys in the Frontier Independent League. In 1994, Seymour set a league record with a 1.71 ERA in 74 innings. In 1995, Coach Seymour pitched for the Mobile Baysharks in the Texas-Louisiana League where he had a 2.34 ERA with 43 strikeouts in 73 innings. Coach Michael Bumstead is a graduate of Big Bear High School in Big Bear Lake, California, where he was a 3-Sport athlete in Baseball, Football and Basketball. In California, Mike was an All-State Selection as a Pitcher and Outfielder and was also an All-State Punter in Football. Mike attended Cerritos Community College in Norwalk, California where he was the punter on the football team and was named to the All-South Coast Conference Team as an outfielder in both 1997 and 1998. Mike went onto Cal State University of Northridge (CSUN) as a starting outfielder. After his senior year, Mike signed with the San Diego Padres as a pitcher. Mike played eight years of professional baseball playing with the San Diego Padres, Seattle Mariners, Texas Rangers and the Newark Bears.

Coach John Bell graduated from Fairhope High School in 1982. After graduation, Coach Bell served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps. Coach Bell then went on to attend the University of South Alabama and graduated with a degree in Political Science.
Coach Bell coached alongside Coach Lloyd Skoda for 17 years at Daphne and Faith Academy, where they won six State Championships. Coach Bell has taught at Faith Academy for 21 years where he currently teaches Bible and coaches football. Continue reading |
